Newly mounted Nanday parakeet taxidermy mount, on driftwood stump and simplistic, black metal modern base. This bird died from natural causes. Please note, I only work with birds who die of accidental or natural causes.

Please note, just like humans, some birds have flaws and defects. This is natural and is a result of them living real lives in the wild.
 
 
Unfortunately, this parakeet has a small bald patch on the back of its head, on the left side. To counter this I have mounted the bird looking out over its right shoulder to create a show side so that this bald patch would not be visible if you were displaying it on a mantelpiece or shelf.
 
Unfortunately, there were no feathers there for me to be able to distort the skin and pull them across. Bald patches are very common in parrots as they tend to peck themselves and one another and this is completely normal behaviour. There is not a reduction on the price for this mount, as there was nothing I could have done to prevent or avoid it, and with no feathers there at all I could not do a restoration. Therefore, my labour and skill is still the same as if I was doing a specimen without a pecked patch.
